After helping other couples plan their dream wedding, it was so fun to finally plan my own! After 1.5 years of planning, we were ready to tie the knot... COVID had other plans for us. After a date change from May to October, and a drastic guest count reduction, our wedding day finally arrived! A blizzardy Friday rehearsal made way for a beautiful snowy Saturday in October, complete with fresh powder and sunshine - my favorite kind of weather. Although not the original wedding we had planned, the day was perfect!
Both the ceremony and reception took place at Pinebrook Golf Course and Country Club, which overlooked the beautiful snowy backdrop outside. We started the day both getting ready with the bridesmaids and groomsmen at our home, followed by a fun limousine ride for photos at SAIT and Legend 7 Brewery.
Our style was simple and rustic - white linens, wood signs and centerpieces, vintage lanterns, gold votives, and simple greenery scattered throughout the venue. The silk bouquets were made by yours truly, with Curated Kits ribbon adding a finishing touch, in a dusty blue. The bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen's ties and pocket squares also in dusty blue, added a touch of color to the day.
The highlight of the day for us was having our loved ones celebrate with us - despite the pandemic, we were able to safely have guests attend, and take part in our special day - we even got to have a dancefloor! Although my parents were unable to travel from Australia, we had a live stream, which allowed all of our original guest list to watch our ceremony online.
We are so grateful to all of our vendors for all of their patience, and assistance in making our day so special. It's true what they say, your wedding day goes by so fast, but we are left with amazing memories - I wish we could do it all over again!
